The Sleepy Time Motel

Sleepy Time Motel was built in 1961, a few years after completion of the Maine Turnpike nearby. When more Americans than ever were hitting the road it provided a new affordable motel in Auburn Maine and it still provides updated comfortable, affordable room in a “Mom and Pop” atmosphere today. It is ideally located one half mile from Turnpike Exit 75.

Still a great location after fifty years, Mark and Lynn Klinger have put their own stamp on what is now known as Sleepy Time Motel. We take great pride in our place and the fact that we maintain our rooms, the lawn and gardens too. We strive to make your stay a comfortable and pleasant one. In fact, many of our guests have remarked that they thought their room felt just like home. Unfortunately our rooms are not handicapped accessible. We do not allow pets.

Do you like the outdoors? Then our Auburn Maine motel might be right for you. Located on five acres of lawns, there are nearly 100 acres of woods laced with walking trails behind the motel. Over three miles in length, the trails provide walking, snowshoeing and wildlife observation opportunities for you to explore during your stay.

Sleepy Time is located close to many area attractions which include golf courses, Sabbath day Lake Shaker Village, Poland Springs, Bates College and the Great Falls Balloon Festival every August.

We hope you’ll decide to give Sleepy Time Motel a try.
